Bombay Sapphire - ,,Through a Glass, Darkly"
As part of our strategic art-branding initiatives for Bombay Sapphire, we conceptualized and executed an interdisciplinary, multisensory exhibition showcasing contemporary art.
Bombay Sapphire strategically positions itself with the motto 'Stir Creativity,' actively engaging in visual arts projects globally for years, thus actively interacting with the artistic scene. It was our pleasure to conceptualize and produce the first locally inspired exhibition of contemporary art influenced by this brand.
For this project, in collaboration with invited curators Joanna Witek-Lipka and Katarzyna Wąs, we involved some of the leading native artists.
The exhibition titled 'Through the Murky Looking Glass' showcased artworks that defy simple classification. 'Visual arts have always been based on the illusion of the senses,' as stated in the curatorial text of the exhibition.
We presented works by artists whose activities transcend simple classification, pushing cognitive boundaries and stimulating all senses. One of the sensory works was based on a scent inspired by the unique aromatic notes of gin. There were also numerous color references corresponding to the visual world of Bombay Sapphire.
As reality becomes increasingly intertwined with what machines create, the exhibition 'Through the Murky Looking Glass' aimed to show that such sensory confrontation is nothing new and that this constant practice in visual arts remains vital, meaningful, and thought-provoking. Analogously, in these times, fresh contemporary art can be even more intriguing.
During 5 days, the exhibition attracted 1900 visitors. It was met with a highly positive reception from the contemporary art scene and curator community, as evidenced by the crowds that attended its vernissage in large numbers. Additionally, it gained significant visibility in the media, including:
