"HALUCY_NACJA" – exhibition
Exhibition-interpretation of the dystopian reality of the novel "Czarne Słońce" by Jakub Żulczyk, created with the collective ‘Zbiorowy’ at the Propaganda Gallery.
Together with the collective ‘Zbiorowy’ and the Propaganda gallery, we have prepared the exhibition "HALUCY_NACJA", inspired by the book by Jakub Żulczyk, accompanying the premiere of the novel.
We managed to create an unprecedented situation. For the first time, a novel was developed into an art exhibition for the purposes of hyping the information about its premiere. It touched upon extremely burning contexts present in public space, such as violence, fascism and xenophobia. We invited artists from a collective art group to cooperate with us. They undertook a visual-verbal dialogue with the author. Taking up the themes contained in the book, the artists placed them in the context of today's reality with the question of where authoritarianism and ideological infatuation lead to.
"HALUCY_NACJA" is art created in real time by artists who want to confront the viewers with a difficult topic that sparks reflections. The goal of this project was to show in a metaphoric way where we are heading as a society and, of course, lead to reading the book. As part of the closing event of the exhibition on November 11, 2019, Karol Grygoruk's photo project "RACE" was presented in parallel with the exhibition at the Propaganda Gallery. The exhibition lasted for two weeks and was visited by over 2,000 people.
Case study:
„Czarne Słońce” – zine
Together with the artists of the collective ‘Zbiorowy’, we developed a disturbing supplement to the limited edition of the book "Czarne Słońce" – a zine which is an interpretation of the horrifying fascinations of the novel's heroes.
