Oneg Shabat – Association Of The Jewish Historical Institute
Campaign commemorating and popularizing the heritage of the Warsaw Ghetto Underground Archive.
We developed a strategy and implemented a communication campaign for the Oneg Shabbat group.
Oneg Szabat is a program established by the Jewish Historical Institute and the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute in order to commemorate and disseminate the heritage of the Warsaw Ghetto Underground Archive. On September 18th, 1946, an unusual treasure was found in the ruins of Warsaw. Ten metal boxes containing collections and documents have been uncovered. They are now part of the most important testimonies of the Holocaust – the Underground Archive of the Warsaw Ghetto. We had the honor to tell this story to a wide audience anew.
Scope of work:
- strategy
- creative concept
- copywriting
- PR service
- social media support
- DOOH
Invited to collaborate with the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute and the Jewish Historical Institute, we developed a campaign aimed at disseminating knowledge about the Archive and its creators – Emanuel Ringelblum and the Oneg Shabbat group. We were responsible for the strategy and creative concept of the Oneg Szabat project, as well as the implementation of digital and social media communications promoting the platform and crowdfunding campaign. Moreover, we carried out the promotion of the permanent exhibition "What we’ve been unable to shout out to the world", which premiered in November 2017 at the Jewish Historical Institute.
Case study:
Crowdfunding campaign
We started the activities around Oneg Szabat with the launch of a crowdfunding website containing information about the program. The social media campaign started on September 18th, 2017, on the 71st anniversary of the excavation of the first part of the Ringelblum Archive.
„What we’ve been unable to shout out to the world”
The exhibition had a wide appeal: over 2,000 people saw it in the first 20 days of its opening. The 12-month crowdfunding campaign was conducted on a platform created for this special purpose. By promoting the fundraising campaign, we went out into the world: we managed to reach people in the United States and Canada interested in the memory of Polish Jews. We managed to touch many hearts.
